Spare Bottle Mini from Tamiya is an empty spare bottle of round (cylindrical) shape with a volume of 10 ml. It serves to store mixed paints, shades and mixes so that they do not evaporate and you can come back to them in a week or a month with the same shade. Note — it is a modeling aid, it is not a paint and it is not a kit. The bottle is supplied EMPTY, paint is not included in the package.

Use

• Storing a mixed shade you do not want to mix again (camouflage, a tone of your own, a unified base).
• Decanting the remains of paint from a cracked or damaged bottle.
• Preparing paint thinned for the airbrush in advance.
• Storing a smaller amount of thinner, varnish or wash for work at the bench.

A round bottle versus a square mixing jar

Tamiya offers 10 ml mini containers in two shapes and it is good to know which one you want. The round bottle — this one — has a shape matching a classic paint bottle and suits above all as a storage container for finished, mixed paint. The square version is listed as a mixing jar. The contents and the volume are the same (10 ml); the shape and the typical use differ. Both are supplied empty.

For everyone who mixes their own shades or thins paints for an airbrush and needs to keep them for later. Practical also for modelers who work on one project for a long time and want to be sure of touching up with exactly the same tone.
