STREAKING GRIME is a ready-to-use enamel (synthetic, solvent-based) effect in a bottle with a volume of 35 ml that dries matte. It is not a kit, but a modeling chemical for weathering finished models. The dirty gray shade is intended for creating vertical streaks of grime and dried water, like those that run down the sides of a hull, turret or fuselage on real equipment — under rivets, around hatches, below drip edges, hatches and protrusions. These vertical streaks are exactly what give a model scale and believability, since the eye instantly reads the direction of gravity and understands that the vehicle stood out in rain and dust.
Apply it over a cured gloss or semi-gloss varnish — only from a smooth, fully dry surface can the excess be blended cleanly and with control, and removed entirely if needed. On a matte surface the effect soaks in and blends unevenly. Once the weathering is finished, seal the model with a matte varnish.
For modelers of tanks, armored vehicles, trucks, diorama equipment, ships and aircraft who want realistic, layered weathering. It pairs excellently with washes and precedes or complements dust effects. Thanks to the ability to correct it with thinner, the application is friendly even for beginners.
Solvent-based modeling chemistry — flammable. Work in a well-ventilated area, protect your skin and airways, avoid contact with eyes. Keep out of the reach of children and away from sources of fire and open flame.
