Sira Hobby - Medium Earth (pigment paste)

Medium Earth is a weathering pigment paste from the Czech manufacturer Sira Hobby, a specialist in weathering products. It is not an opaque paint for covering surfaces but a pasty pigment for creating realistic traces of wear. The medium earth, neutral shade is a versatile base for dust, dried mud and build-up - it works well on its own and as a transitional tone between lighter and darker earth shades.

Use

• Thin the paste with water as needed and apply it with a brush where dust and dirt settle.
• Apply it more heavily to the lower areas, the running gear and the fenders; dust the upper surfaces only lightly.
• Once dry, adjust the excess with a damp brush, or layer it with other tones for depth.
• Combine it with liquid washes and dry pigments for a faithful, layered effect.

Who it is for

For modelers of vehicles, figures and dioramas looking for a dependable medium earth tone as a base for weathering. It suits armor models, artillery, buildings and terrain. Thanks to its neutral shade it works as a versatile working earth, on which you can then build up with lighter dust and darker mud and so create a convincing transition from dry to damp areas. The water-thinnable formula will be appreciated by beginners and by advanced modelers who combine the paste with washes and pigments.

Keep out of the reach of children. When working with pigment products, avoid inhaling the dried dust unnecessarily and ventilate the room; wash your hands after use.
