This is a set of hand-modeled and hand-painted figures in the railroad scale HO, that is 1:87. It is not a kit and not an unpainted casting; all the pieces are finished and complete in color down to the small details. The Scenic Accents line is built precisely on the fact that a modeler gets a usable vignette at once, without painting and without waiting for anything to dry.
The set captures the classic summer earnings of children and teenagers: a newsboy with his papers, mowing the lawn and a lemonade stand complete with the staff behind it. A dog is not missing either. It is a markedly North American motif, which on a suburban layout fixes the time of year and the mood of the scene at once. The figures can be used together as one vignette, or divided among the individual streets.
Because the figures are finished and painted, the work with them is short: choose a spot, try the arrangement dry and only then glue. Use tweezers and a drop of glue under the base; PVA glue holds well and can be soaked off later, while cyanoacrylate glue holds permanently. Modelers who want to go further pick out the eyes and small details with a thin brush and finally unify the whole figures with matte varnish, which at the same time reduces the gloss of the plastic.
The figures are supplied finished and hand-painted. Glue, terrain materials and further accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
