The filling is foam cut into small cubes, from which you simply pluck out as many cubes as you need, and a bed appears that matches the shape of the model exactly. Nothing has to be cut or glued, and the beds can be changed at any time when the collection changes.

How to make a bed

• lay the model on the foam and mark the edges of its outline lightly
• pluck the cubes inside the outline out one by one, starting from the center
• leave at least one row of cubes around the model as a buffer
• choose the depth so that the model does not stand above the edge of the foam
• on models with a lot of relief, pluck out only as much as is necessary, as the foam then holds better
• keep the plucked cubes; when the collection changes you can put them back
• make the bed a little larger than the model, as a tight fit rubs the paint

Transport is exactly the moment when most aerials, barrels and thin parts break, because the model shifts inside the box.
