A rust-colored cast without a single patch is what Rust 1 Filter Tensocrom from Lifecolor can do, a toning filter with which corrosion is built as a layer of color, not as a drawing.
Responsibility details are not available.
Rust 1 is the first of the rust-colored pair in the Tensocrom toning range. The translucent layer carries a rust tone onto the surface, but it does not draw particular patches or the traces of running water, so the result cannot be told as painted on.
Rust as a tone, not as a patch
The commonest mistake with corrosion is to start with the detail. Rust-colored blotches are painted onto a clean surface and the result looks as though foreign patches lay on the model. Real corrosion begins differently: first the tone of the whole area changes to a warmer brown-orange, and only within it do the centers appear. A filter serves precisely for that first step. After it, all the later details have a common base and hold together.
For modelers of vehicles, dioramas and railways who want to build corrosion gradually and have it under control. The layers are laid on weakly with a pause between them, because a rust tone adds up faster than neutral shades do.
Stir the contents before work. Work in a ventilated space and keep out of the reach of children.
