Fuel traces around filler ports and caps are dealt with by Fuel Filter Tensocrom from Lifecolor, a toning filter in the shade of staining by fuel.
Responsibility details are not available.
Fuel is the shade of the Tensocrom toning range that aims at service dirt from fuel. It is laid on in a translucent layer and colors the surface in the places where fuel overflowed, dripped or soaked into the finish over a long time.
An area, or a line?
Deciding which product to reach for is simpler than it seems. When a continuous area around a filler port or a band under a cap is to be colored, that is a task for a filter. When an engraved seam or the outline of a panel is to be brought out, a thinner product meant for lines belongs there, one that wicks in by itself. A filter, by contrast, is rubbed out with a brush and you have to rub its edge out to nothing yourself, or a visible boundary will stay.
For modelers of aircraft, vehicles and dioramas who want a machine to look as though it is in service, not just made. The effect looks best when it keeps to a few logical places and is not spread over the whole surface.
Stir the contents before use. Work in a ventilated space and keep out of the reach of children.
