A modeling paint from the Lifecolor brand. The shade is called Olive Green 41 and the manufacturer gives the number FS 34088 with it, that is, a reference to the American federal color chart of shades, in which every tone has its number. The reference to the chart serves to make clear which subject the shade comes close to and to let it be compared across brands. The leading three belongs in the chart to the group of matte tones; the name of the shade alone gives no such certainty, as there is a whole range of olive greens and every brand names them its own way.
Stir the bottle thoroughly before use, as the pigment settles at the bottom. Choose the thinner and the thinning ratio according to the manufacturer's directions on the packaging, that is, always a thinner designated for this range. Do not mix the different ranges with each other, as the binder may curdle and the finish then goes grainy. Lay on several thin layers instead of one heavy one and let each one set. Wash the base beforehand, degrease it and even it out with a primer.
On vehicles, olive tones cover large continuous areas, and it is exactly there that a model gives a flat impression if the shade is not worked on further. It therefore pays to brighten the center of larger areas slightly and leave the edges more saturated, to bring out the edges only once it is dry and to reach for weathering only at the end. Judge the final impression from a test spray in daylight, not from a screen.
The paint alone is supplied. Thinner, primer and varnish are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
