Inside a bay light is missing — and that role is taken over exactly by the light gray Lifecolor Light Grey FS36622, with which the edges, frames and ceilings of closed spaces are drawn out.
Responsibility details are not available.
The lightest tone in an interior is not meant to be a color but a source of light. In a landing gear bay, in an engine compartment or deep in a cockpit the sun never shines, so all the modeling has to be painted by the modeler. A light gray with a reference to the American Federal Standard in its name is a rewarding tone for that work: it is light enough to stand out and at the same time neutral, so it does not spoil the color of the surrounding areas.
A light gray forgives little. Laid on across a whole area it flattens the space and the interior starts to look chalky, so it is better to begin with a darker base and dose the light tone only where light would really fall. It also holds that whatever is lightest inside will draw the eye first — so do not put it in places you do not finally want emphasized on the model.
For modelers who work with layering tones and want an interior with modeling even without photographing it under a spotlight.
Keep out of the reach of children, and ventilate while working.
