The Lifecolor UA134 modeling paint in the zinc chromate yellow shade, listed under the number FS33481.
Responsibility details are not available.
Zinc chromate yellow is the color of the protective base coat with which metal structures were protected against corrosion. From model building you know it above all from the interiors of American aircraft, from the insides of covers and from landing gear bays, where it was left exposed. The tone is a greenish yellow, not a pure sunny yellow. The number FS33481 comes from the American Federal Standard, which describes each shade with an unambiguous five-digit number, so you can identify the paint from it even in instructions in a foreign language.
Shake the bottle thoroughly before work. Yellow shades cover less well than dark ones, so expect several thin coats and let each one set; over a light base coat you will reach an even surface sooner. The thinner intended for this range and the thinning ratio are given by the manufacturer on the packaging, separately for an airbrush and separately for a brush. Wash and degrease the surface of the model beforehand.
Above all for builders of American aircraft who need a paint for the cockpit interior, for the inner sides of covers and doors or for landing gear bays. It will also come into play wherever you want to show a chipped finish with the base coat underneath. After work, close the bottle carefully and store it at room temperature.
A thinner, a base coat, a varnish and a model are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
