A greenish tone in a group otherwise held by grays and browns: German uniforms Light Green from the Lifecolor acrylic line aims at the green areas of camouflage patterns and canvas parts.
Responsibility details are not available.
This water-based acrylic paint fills a role in the German uniforms group that is often forgotten at the time of buying. The base shades tend to be bought at once, the field gray, the brown kit, the leather. The green comes into play only at the moment you get to camouflage patterns, and there you cannot do without it, because green appears in them practically always.
A camouflage pattern on a figure is extra work, but it pays
Patterns on canvas parts are not solid areas but a set of irregular blotches in several tones. A light green usually forms the brighter layer in them, laid over a darker base. What is essential is to lead the blotches along the shape of the fabric and not along the plane of the bench; when a pattern runs across a fold and does not break with it, the viewer of a scene recognizes at once that it is painted.
Patterns are painted above all with a brush with a good point and in thin coats, so that the engraved detail of the fabric stays legible under the paint. Do not make the blotches too regular or all the same size; irregularity is exactly what sets a camouflage pattern apart from a decoration. And because these are small areas, reckon with a whole figure taking more time than a single-color uniform.
For modelers of figures and busts who are taking on camouflage patterns, and for diorama builders looking for a light subdued green for canvas accessories.
Stir the paint before work, work in a well-ventilated room and keep it out of the reach of children.
