A shade named after a particular uniform is offered by the acrylic paint German WWII Feldgendarmerie Uniforms from Lifecolor. The name defines the purpose, not a particular tone.
Responsibility details are not available.
This item of the Lifecolor figure range is a water-based acrylic paint. Its name gives not a color but an object: the uniform cloth of a particular type of uniform of the Second World War period. The shade is therefore chosen by what you are painting, not by the name of the color on the palette.
The older period sets of the same maker often name shades by material and color, that is cloth gray-green, leather natural. The sets for later periods instead name shades by individual garments, that is tunic, trousers, coat. The practical consequence is simple: with these colors the name cannot be relied on, and it is a good idea to draw the sample out on a piece of paper or on a practice surface first.
It will be reached for by figure painters who assemble a palette by individual parts of clothing and want a tone of their own for each area without mixing by hand. It also serves in a diorama scene where each figure is meant to have a slightly different combination of cloth shades.
Keep out of the reach of children and ensure a supply of fresh air while painting.
