The light shade Vaalean Harmaa — Light Grey (Finnish WWII Air Force) from the Lifecolor acrylic range complements the dark Finnish camouflage colors.
Responsibility details are not available.
The light gray Vaalean Harmaa — Light Grey comes from the palette of the Finnish Air Force of the Second World War period; the maker gives the Finnish name and the English translation directly in the product designation. Within the group of Finnish shades it stands for the light position, that is, the counterweight to the dark green the upper surfaces of the machines carried.
On wartime aircraft the light colors concentrated in the areas meant to disappear against the sky and in the elements serving for recognition. Whereas American machines handled the underside with a neutral gray and British ones with a light greenish tone, the Finnish palette contained its own light positions, this gray among them. On a model a light shade behaves differently from a dark one: it will show every unevenness of the surface and at the same time it takes later toning well, so it is a good idea to leave yourself room on it to finish the appearance according to the particular reference.
It suits modelers of Finnish aircraft who assemble the whole scheme from one acrylic range, and everyone looking for a clean light gray without a pronounced color cast. Thanks to its neutral character it gets along with dark greens and with earthy tones alike.
Keep the container well closed and out of the reach of children, and ventilate during longer work in an enclosed space.
