The dark acrylic shade Lifecolor Dark Code suits everywhere the ground is meant to be dark: under metal effects, in shadows and on areas that are meant to recede into the background.
Responsibility details are not available.
Dark Code belongs to the shades Lifecolor named figuratively and not according to a military regulation. A standard number does not belong to it and is not looked for either. Such a shade is chosen by eye, according to what it is meant to do on a model, and a dark tone manages surprisingly much of that in modeling.
A dark ground is half of a metal look. A metallic shine arises from contrast: the darker the area around a shiny spot, the more sharply the shine stands out. A metallic pigment laid over a light ground acts like gray dust; over a dark one, like metal.
Dark tones forgive less than light ones, because every unevenness is visible on them. It pays to work in several light coats and to spray at a lower pressure, so that the area stays smooth and free of graininess. When working with a brush, lead the strokes in one direction and lay the last coat only onto a dried surface.
For modelers who work with light and shadow, that is, for everyone who wants a model not to look flat. It will find use with vehicles, with custom paintwork and in fantasy schemes.
Work in a ventilated area, close the container carefully after use and keep it out of the reach of children.
