The dark wood of a rifle stock is represented by the acrylic paint Lifecolor Dark Wooden Stock, the counterpart of the light variant from the same pair of shades.

On a figure a stock is one of the few areas where wood can really be shown. That is exactly why it matters so much there when it is merely brown. The acrylic shade Lifecolor Dark Wooden Stock is aimed at the darker position of stock wood, at walnut and similar hardwoods, which bring richness and depth into brown.
The tone alone does half the work; the rest is texture. The proven procedure is to lay down an even area, let it dry and then lightly suggest the growth rings with a darker line led with an almost dry brush along the wood. The edges of a stock that a hand keeps touching are, on the contrary, left somewhat lighter. The shade has a lighter counterpart in the same range, so the pair can also be used for a transition between well-handled and protected places.
The paint will be used by painters of figures and busts, by collectors of weapon models and by builders of dioramas where wood appears in the details. It will also serve well where several different pieces of wood are to be in one scene and are not meant to look like products from one mold.
Keep out of the reach of children, ensure ventilation and close the bottle carefully after use.
