UA840 - Arancio M.D. Satin

Arancio M.D. Satin - Lifecolor acrylic paint

Arancio M.D. Satin is an acrylic modeling paint from Lifecolor. The Italian word arancio means orange; the abbreviation M.D. is taken from the name exactly as the manufacturer gives it and is not expanded here, because its meaning is not stated. The word Satin sets the sheen, that is a satin surface. The shade belongs to a continuous group of colors aimed at the livery of rolling stock and its fittings.

Use

• In railroad liveries orange usually serves as a highly visible accent rather than as a main surface.
• That is exactly why it is best applied over a finished base tone, so that it stays sharply bounded.
• The satin surface keeps a strong shade legible even on narrow stripes and small parts.
• The shade goes with the gray and beige tones of the same range, which are conceived as a single palette.

Who the paint is for

It will appeal to railroad modelers who need a warning orange in a satin finish. It is also usable on dioramas, on construction machinery or on warning features. The abbreviation in the name is the detail that tells this shade apart from the other oranges, so watch for it when ordering. The name does not give a particular vehicle or period.

Keep out of the reach of children. Use in a ventilated area, protect your airways when spraying and avoid contact with the eyes.
