The widest spacing in this series, grooves every 3.2 mm on a sheet 0.50 mm thick. The sheet measures 15 x 30 cm.

An eighth of an inch, that is 3.2 mm, is the largest step this group offers. The strips are wide enough to be worked individually once cut out and assembled with irregular gaps, which gives a floor where every plank shows separately. The thickness stays at half a millimeter and the sheet is 15 x 30 cm.
In one thirty-fifth this step gives a plank 11.2 cm wide, in one twenty-fourth 7.7 cm and in one sixteenth 5.1 cm. Those are exactly the dimensions of the bearing boards of a loading ramp, of a pier over water or of the floor of a railroad car. In the large figure scales a whole walking surface is built from it, one the figures move across and where narrow planking would look like parquet.
Cut the surface into individual planks, shorten the ends unevenly and leave a hair-wide gap between some of them when gluing. Glue cross beams of strip underneath, because on a ramp those are exactly what shows from below. Suggest the polished traces of boots and wheels with a dry brush in a lighter tone along the strip where people walk, and leave the edges darker and grubby. Sand the edges of the planks by the water into a curve; long soaking splits wood and a sharp edge simply does not survive on an old pier.
