Use

• Prepare and paint the base of the diorama first - the bottom is visible through the water surface and once it has been poured over you will not get at it any more.
• Apply the gel with a spatula, a plastic card or an old brush; shape the form of the waves and ripples while the material is pliable.
• Build it up in layers and let each layer dry thoroughly - a thick layer all at once takes a long time to dry and dries unevenly.
• You create the depth of the water rather with a darker base and a graded bottom than with a quantity of gel.
• Mask the edges of the water surface with a bank, grass or gravel, so that the transition to the base is not visible.
