A very fine 1500 grit sandpaper, intended for wet sanding as well. It suits smoothing filled joints down and leveling the surface just before painting.
Responsibility details are not available.
Sandpaper of 1500 grit is among the very fine ones. It practically no longer takes material away, but it does level out the marks left by coarser sanding and leaves an evenly smooth surface. It comes in at the end of the work: after sanding filler down, after leveling the joint of two fuselage or hull halves, and just before painting, when the base under the paint should look all of a piece.
The paper is also intended for work with water, as its name states. Wet sanding has two advantages: the water carries the sanded dust away, so the grit does not clog as quickly, and the surface does not heat up, so thin edges and leading edges do not suffer. A drop of detergent in the water is enough. Press lightly and let the grit do the work, otherwise a shallow hollow forms under your fingers that a gloss paint will unfailingly give away.
On flat areas the paper is better guided on a flat block, on curves only between your fingers. After sanding, rinse the part, let it dry completely and degrease it before painting, because the remains of sanding slurry repel paint. On clear parts work through several grits in turn and polish the surface at the end, because sanding alone will not bring the transparency back.
A model, paints, glue and polishing compound are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
