A hand-painted set from the Scenic Accents line of the American maker Woodland Scenics on the theme of work in a warehouse and on a ramp. It shows workers by a forklift, that is a typical scene from a freight station or an industrial siding. The figures are cast from plastic resin, hand-painted and supplied finished: they are not assembled and not touched up with paint. HO scale corresponds to 1:87.
The freight part of a layout tends to be poor in figures, and yet it is exactly there that the traffic takes place for which the line exists at all. The set suits a ramp, a warehouse building, the area of a container transfer yard, a siding or an open freight car. Together with models of crates, pallets and boxes a legible working scene comes about.
Build a handling scene as action in progress: the load divided into a finished and an unfinished part, one figure by the forklift, another by the stack. The empty space between them is just as important as the figures themselves. Glue them with a small drop under the soles; on a ramp and on concrete the joint holds well even without sanding the soles, while on loose terrain it is a good idea to level the base. The strong color of the work clothing can be softened with a very light dark wash, which at the same time brings out the folds.
The figures are supplied finished and hand-painted. Glue, the load, terrain and further accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
