An acrylic palette of six shades for Italian aircraft from the war, including the complete German RLM 74, 75 and 76 scheme worn by ANR machines.
Responsibility details are not available.
The palette aims at the machines of the Regia Aeronautica and especially at the units of the Aeronautica Nazionale Repubblicana, which from the autumn of 1943 flew alongside the Luftwaffe. It was precisely there that two completely different painting traditions met, and this box covers both at once.
The home-grown trio consists of the dark olive Verde Oliva Scuro 2, the hazelnut light Nocciola Chiaro 4 and the bright gray-blue Grigio Azzurro Chiaro 1. The first two belong on the upper surfaces, the third shade covers the underside of the fuselage and the wings. The dark olive was moreover sprayed as irregular blotches over a lighter base.
The second half of the contents is German: gray-green RLM 74 and gray-violet RLM 75 on top, light blue RLM 76 below. That is how a number of machines looked that had passed through the repair shops of the allied Luftwaffe.
From a single box you can therefore build both an aircraft in a fully Italian coat and a machine in German camouflage with Italian national insignia. The formula is prepared for the airbrush and dries to a matte finish; the pigment settles at the bottom, so the bottle has to be shaken well before the cup is filled.
