British Railways Set 1 - Early period (1948-1959) is a Lifecolor themed set of modeling paints aimed at the coloring of the British railways in the first postwar years.
Responsibility details are not available.
A themed set of modeling paints from the Italian brand Lifecolor, defined in the name by the period from 1948 to 1959. It is the first set of a three-part series that divides the British railways by era. What it contains is painting material, and the shades are chosen so that they go together and match the look of the vehicles and installations of that period.
British Railways came into being in 1948, when the private companies that had existed until then were merged into a single state undertaking. The first years were therefore a time of searching for a uniform look: the new management tried various liveries for its vehicles, machines in the fittings inherited from the predecessors were still in service on the lines, and steam operation was taken for granted. This unsettledness is interesting for a modeler precisely because a vehicle in the old and one in the new finish can legitimately stand side by side in one scene.
For railroad modelers who are building a British rail vehicle or a scene from the first postwar years, and for builders of dioramas who want the colors of an era settled in one purchase.
Caution: Keep the paints out of the reach of children, work in a ventilated room and close the bottles carefully after use.
