Sira Hobby - Earthy Brown (pigment paste)

Earthy Brown is a weathering pigment paste from the Czech manufacturer Sira Hobby, who specializes in weathering products. It is not an opaque paint for covering surfaces but a pasty pigment intended for creating realistic traces of wear - brownish earth deposits, dried mud, dust and build-up on running gear, fenders and the lower parts of models. The shade belongs to the warm earth range, whose members can be freely combined with one another and with other tones.

Use

• Thin the paste with water as needed and apply it with a brush where dirt naturally settles.
• Build up heavier deposits on the running gear, the fenders and the underside of the body; for a fine dusting, stipple lightly instead.
• Once dry, the excess can be adjusted with a damp brush or overlaid with another shade for depth.
• Combine it with liquid washes and dry pigments for a layered, faithful effect.

Who it is for

For modelers of vehicles, figures and dioramas who want to give a scene realistic dirt and earth tones. Suitable for armor models, artillery and also buildings and terrain. It will be appreciated both by beginners looking for an easily controlled, water-thinnable way of weathering and by advanced modelers who work the paste into a layered technique together with washes, filters and dry pigments. The shade is versatile enough for ordinary European soil as well as for drier, dustier settings.

Keep out of the reach of children. When working with pigment products, avoid inhaling the dried dust unnecessarily and ventilate the room; wash your hands after use.
