Small hex rivets from the Japanese brand Top Studio 0.7 mm in diameter in a brass, that is, golden finish. It is not a kit or a model, but supplementary parts with which indistinct molded details on the body, the frame or in the interior are replaced. The dimension in the name is the diameter of the head of the rivet, not the scale of a model, so the set does not relate to one particular kit.
Seven tenths of a millimeter is the universal middle of the whole range, which runs from 0.5 to 1.0 mm. Rivets of this diameter look good as hood quick-release fasteners, as bolts in body panels and engine covers or as hardware on mountings and hinges. In automobile scales around 1:20 and 1:24 they come out at a size that is discernible even from a distance but does not yet weigh the body down.
Top Studio keeps hex rivets in three versions designated A, B and C. Version A is offered exclusively in a brass shade, while versions B and C exist in silver as well. The difference between the individual versions lies in the shape of the head. The practical recommendation is to keep to one version on one model, so that all the joints are uniform.
A hole is pre-drilled under the rivet with a micro drill bit, for this size as a rule with a bit slightly under 0.7 mm, so that the shank holds by friction. Transfer the rivets with tweezers with fine jaws or with a dampened toothpick, as they are picked up badly from the fingers and are easily lost. Secure them with a minute drop of super glue applied with a wire. The brass shade can be left without painting and only fixed with a matte or satin varnish.
