Responsibility details are not available.
This product is not a model of a vehicle or an aircraft, but a kit of a building, that is a diorama object. The siheyuan is a traditional Chinese residential compound in which single-story buildings are arranged around a rectangular inner courtyard. The model is intended as a backdrop and a spatial element of a scene in 1:100 scale and is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The exact number of buildings, the number of parts and the way they join are given in the instructions in the package.
The siheyuan is a type of development that shaped the look of the old quarters of Beijing for centuries. The closed perimeter of houses with their windows turned inward created a sheltered courtyard entered through a single gate; the outer side, on the contrary, was largely blank. The arrangement matched the climate as well as the traditional way of several generations living together. Tiled roofs with a pronounced overhang, wooden columns and window frames with a regular grid, and low walls marking off the courtyard are typical. It is precisely this structure that gives the model a clearly readable architectural character.
With buildings the key is painting the textures, not the precision of the fit of the parts. Spray the roof tiles in a base shade, then let a dark wash flow between the individual rows and finally bring out the edges with a dry brush. You will create the wooden elements better with a combination of several brown tones and drybrushing on top than with one even coat. Liven up the masonry and the render with patches, mild soiling at the foot of the walls and discreet pigments. Set the model on a board and fill the transition between the building and the terrain with soil, gravel or paving, otherwise the structure will look as if it is floating above the base.
The kit is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
