A kit of the Polish wz. 28 armored car in its late form, armed with a Hotchkiss machine gun, in 1:100 scale from Zebranomodel. The maker works the individual variants up separately, so a whole group of Polish interwar equipment can be built. The small scale suits extensive collections, small dioramas and gaming with models.
The wz. 28 was a Polish half-track armored car built on a chassis derived from the Citroën-Kégresse design. It had a rotating turret and thin armor reckoning on small-arms rounds and splinters. The armament differed between batches, with some of the vehicles carrying a light gun and some a machine gun, and this model corresponds according to the name to the machine-gun form. The half-track running gear did not prove itself in service and a large part of the vehicles was later rebuilt onto a purely wheeled chassis. The cars served with the reconnaissance units of cavalry formations.
Start from the running gear, which on a half-track vehicle is the most complicated part and becomes hard to reach once the hull is closed. Cut the parts off leaving a margin and clean them up away from the sprue. For injection-molded plastic, thin modeling cement applied in drops is enough; with resin parts wash them free of release agent and glue them with cyanoacrylate. The machine gun barrel is extremely fragile in this scale, so fit it at the very end. Lay the base on thinly, thin the paint well and keep the weathering restrained, with the emphasis on the running gear and the lower edges.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
