1:1000 K-S 7 U vesnice is a small model of a Czechoslovak infantry blockhouse of the heavy fortifications in 1:1000 scale from the Czech maker ROP o.s.
Responsibility details are not available.
The model captures the object of the Czechoslovak heavy fortifications designated K-S 7 with the code name U vesnice, meaning by the village. The 1:1000 scale is typical of fortification subjects: the finished object measures only a few centimeters, so a whole row of objects can be built side by side and the line shown as a whole rather than as a single blockhouse. The maker is the Czech association ROP o.s., which has worked on this series for a long time and issues dozens of individual objects in it, based on real subjects.
Objects with the K-S designation belong to the sector whose construction was directed by the engineer group command at Kraliky. The Czechoslovak heavy fortifications were built from the mid-1930s according to a single methodology: reinforced concrete blockhouses sunk into the terrain, with the main armament aimed sideways so as to cover the neighboring objects, and with observation and close defense through armored cupolas. The individual blockhouses differed in resistance, in the number of firing rooms and in shape according to what they were meant to cover in the terrain. Code names such as U vesnice served to tell the objects apart during construction and in the documentation.
At this scale the surface and the setting in the terrain matter more than detail. A flat concrete base sprayed with an airbrush works well, with a darker wash into the corners and gaps over it and a light dry brush on the edges, so that the object does not look flat. The model comes into its own on a small base with a contour, static grass and a few shrubs - it is exactly the contrast of concrete and greenery that makes the whole impression in 1:1000. If you are building more objects from the series, mix the concrete shade in reserve so that the line keeps a uniform tone.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
