A model of the artillery blockhouse N-D-S 75 Zeleny in 1:1000 scale from the Czech maker ROP o.s. It is not a kit of a vehicle or an aircraft but a model of a structure of the Czechoslovak heavy fortifications. The small model suits display, a collection of the structures of a single sector and a clear presentation of a whole fort together.
Unlike the neighboring structures, Zeleny is an artillery blockhouse, that is a structure built for a gun position for howitzers, and it belongs to the Dobrosov artillery fort near Nachod. The concrete was poured in September 1938 and the planned crew was 86 men. Because the work was stopped the structure remained unfinished: neither the armored cupolas nor the armament were ever fitted. Today it is part of the museum of the Czechoslovak fortifications, serves as the entrance to the underground of the fort and is the only artillery blockhouse of the fort open to the public.
It pays to wash and degrease the small model before painting and to give it a thin primer from a spray can, so that the edges of the embrasures and the small details do not get clogged. Concrete is well imitated by a gray paint worked into several shades, complemented by a light dry brush on the edges and a dark wash into the joints. Shade the armor elements with a darker steel color. Because the real structure remained unfinished, a treatment without fitted cupolas, with raw concrete and a hint of a building site on the base, is legitimate too.
The model is supplied unpainted. Paints, glue and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
