1:144 Boeing 717 flaps is a resin set of extended high-lift devices for a Boeing 717 model. It is a detail accessory for a plastic kit, not a model of the aircraft.
Responsibility details are not available.
A resin set with which the trailing edge of the wing of a Boeing 717 model is converted from the cruise position into the extended landing configuration. The set replaces a part of the base plastic kit and does not form a model on its own. According to the name it is cut for a certain kit in 1:144 scale.
The Boeing 717 derives structurally from the DC-9 and MD-80 family, with which it shares the layout with the engines on the rear fuselage and a T-tail. Compared with its older relatives, however, it has a shorter fuselage, modern avionics and above all different engines, which also shows in the aerodynamics of the wing and in the usual range of flap extension on approach. The aircraft was intended for short routes with a high frequency of flights, so it flew an above-average number of cycles of extending and retracting the devices, and the configuration with extended flaps is typical of it.
Wash and degrease the castings before building. Cut the casting blocks off the thin flap parts carefully, ideally scoring them first and breaking the rest away from the fine edge. The wing of the kit is cut according to the enclosed component, so dry-fit everything first and draw the line of the cut with a pencil. Gluing belongs to cyanoacrylate glue, or to epoxy where you need time to adjust the position. The flap wells and their inner surfaces are painted separately, before the joint is closed. For the thin edges choose rather a thinned paint in more coats, as thick paint rounds off exactly the detail you are buying the set for.
The set is supplied as a resin accessory, unpainted. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
