This is a resin detail set of CFM56-2 engines for plastic models of the E-3 Sentry airborne early warning and control aircraft in 1:144 scale. It is not a kit of the aircraft but a set of replacement engine nacelles, which replaces the parts from the basic kit and captures the powerplant of the re-engined machines more faithfully.
The E-3 Sentry is an AWACS system aircraft built on the airframe of the Boeing 707 and carrying the characteristic rotating radar disc on its fuselage. While the American machines used older turbojet engines, the British and French E-3D/F were re-engined with the more modern CFM56 turbofan engines, which this set depicts.
Wash the mold release agent off the parts, cut off the casting blocks and clean up the surfaces. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue; protect your airways when sanding resin. It pays to match the engine nacelles to the shade of the whole airframe and to emphasize the metal surfaces of the exhaust section.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the basic model are not included in the package.
