The package holds waterslide decals for a model of the light F-5A fighter in 1:144 scale. It is not a kit and not a finished model — the decals serve to mark a model you obtain separately. The sheet concentrates on machines of the Royal Thai Air Force.
The F-5A Freedom Fighter was designed as a simple and inexpensive supersonic fighter for allied air forces. Power came from two small General Electric J85 engines with afterburners, and the airframe was light, slender and tolerant of operation from less well-equipped bases. It was precisely the low maintenance demands and the favorable cost that decided its spread to dozens of countries, with some of which it lasted in service for a very long time. The design later had a more capable continuation in the shape of the F-5E Tiger II, but the F-5A itself remains the typical representative of the light fighters of the 1960s.
In 1:144 scale the aircraft model is smaller than your palm, and the decals match. Have good lighting ready and, if possible, a magnifier — many elements are hard to seat in the right position without one. Let the paint cure thoroughly, spray it with gloss clear and only then begin. Cut the decals out as close as you can, so that no needless areas of carrier film stay on the model; in this scale the film is relatively thick. The damp palette method suits well: the decal releases from its backing on it and can be carried over from there with a brush. Avoid too much water, as a small piece will easily float away with it. Once everything has dried, go over the surface with a thin coat of clear and the edges will vanish.
This is an accessory for a model. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
