Wheel chocks for US Navy aircraft of the Second World War in 1:144 scale are a resin diorama accessory to a kit you have already bought, not an airplane model.
Responsibility details are not available.
This set from the Czech maker Brengun is cast in resin and belongs among the small accessories for aircraft models in 1:144 scale. It is not an airplane kit: the chocks are added to a machine you have already built and complete the scene with the detail that makes it clear at first glance that the aircraft is standing secured and parked.
Chocks were placed under the main wheels whenever a machine was standing rather than taxiing, both on a carrier deck and at a land base. In 1:144 scale they are very small parts, yet it is exactly they that give a scene scale and visually settle an aircraft onto a base. They suit models of carrier machines of the Second World War period and small dioramas of field and shipboard areas.
First wash the parts in lukewarm water with a drop of dish soap: mold release agent is left on them from the mold, and paint will not hold over it. Cut the casting blocks off with a sharp knife or a fine-toothed saw; never snap them off. Sand the cut surface, ideally wet and with respiratory protection. It is bonded with super glue, as ordinary cement for plastic kits has no effect on resin. Apply a thin coat of primer before painting and only then the base shade; then bring out the edges and the wear on the wood or the metal with a dry brush.
The accessory is supplied unpainted and unassembled. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
