A detail set from Aber in 1:16 scale with 8.8 cm armor-piercing ammunition for the German Tiger I heavy tank and with a transport crate for the rounds. The set joins turned metal parts for the rounds with photo-etched elements for the crate. It is not a tank model but add-on equipment for a diorama or an open interior.
The Tiger I was armed with the 8.8 cm KwK 36 gun; its rounds are among the characteristic props of scenes with ammunition. In 1:16 scale the shapes of the cases and the construction of the wooden or metal crate both stand out.
Separate the turned parts and the photo-etched metal, clean them up and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue. Pick the projectiles and the cases out in different colors (brass, a dark tip) and give the crate a primer and a shade to match its form.
This is a photo-etched detail set, not a tank model. The base kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
