This set of five heads of officers of the fictional Schwabenland Army belongs to the retro science fiction Front46 series, in which the manufacturer MAiM builds an alternative world of its own. The heads are intended for modifying and individualizing figures in 1:16 scale and are supplied as unpainted castings to be cleaned up and painted.
Swapping a head is the quickest way to give a figure a new expression and set it apart from the others. Five pieces in the package let you vary a whole command group, so every figure can have its own face and character. The set is a natural companion to the figures and props of the Front46 series in 1:16 scale, but it will also serve for converting ordinary figures if you are creating an alternative subject of your own or need to fill a command post.
Faces in 1:16 scale offer plenty of room for detailed painting. Wash the castings, clean up the marks left by casting and apply a primer. Lay the basic skin tones down with acrylic paints and refine the shadows and the soft transitions with oil paints, because on large heads details such as wrinkles or stubble come out beautifully. Pay attention to the eyes: in this scale they are already a painting detail in their own right.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
