A kit of the road-going Nissan Skyline GTS-R (R31) of 1987 in 1:24 scale from Hasegawa captures the homologation version from which the Group A racing special came.

An injection-molded plastic kit in 1:24 scale from the historic car line of the Japanese maker Hasegawa. Unlike the circuit version in sponsor colors, this is the road-going rendering, that is the car in the form in which it was sold to customers. The package holds plastic sprues and a sheet of water-slide decals, and the model is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
The Skyline GTS-R of the R31 generation was created so that Nissan could homologate a competitive car for Group A touring car racing. It was built in limited numbers and differed from the ordinary Skyline versions in a revised turbocharged inline six, a different intake and exhaust and aerodynamic additions that were mainly there for racing reasons. The angular silhouette of the R31 generation is a typical example of Japanese design of the second half of the 1980s. It was precisely from this car that the circuit special derived, which then became famous in the Japanese touring car championship.
Sand the body carefully and remove the mold seams, and only then apply a filler primer. Road cars look their best in a deep gloss, so cover the color with several thin coats of gloss varnish and polish the surface once it has cured. The chrome window frames and trim are more easily done with chrome foil than with paint. Finish the interior, the engine and the chassis before you close the body up. Lay the water-slide decals, above all the fine lettering and badges, on a gloss base and use a decal softener.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
