Canadian tank crewman in Afghanistan 1:35, version No. 2 from Black Dog is a crew figure that belongs in the turret hatch, not on the ground beside the vehicle.
Responsibility details are not available.
A figure of an armored vehicle crewman in 1:35 scale from the Black Dog figure line. The marking as the second version suggests that it is part of a pair of figures designed to complement each other, and the subject refers to the Canadian presence in Afghanistan.
In Afghanistan Canadian units deployed both wheeled combat vehicles and, later, upgraded Leopard tanks adapted to local conditions, with added armor and sun shields among other things. For a modeler that means a rewarding combination: a large vehicle covered in dust, with a figure at the hatch to give it scale and life. Canadian contingents in the region used the desert version of the camouflage pattern, which is a good guide when choosing shades.
A figure for a hatch differs from a figure on foot in that only part of it is visible. That makes the upper half of the body and the direction of the gaze all the more important. Check dry whether the shoulders will fit into the opening and whether the figure does not sit too high, because that is the most common reason why the result looks unnatural. Do the painting off the model, on a thin holder, and set the finished figure in only at the very end. Keep the dust on the upper part of the torso lighter than on the vehicle; the wind carries less of it into the turret.
