A set of eight British unguided RP-3 rockets with semi-armor-piercing warheads of the 60 pound weight class in 1:24 scale, cut for the early Mk I rails.
Responsibility details are not available.
The British unguided RP-3 rocket was among the most effective armament of fighter-bombers in the Second World War. The figure of three inches in the designation refers to the diameter of the rocket motor, the figure of 60 pounds to the weight class of the warhead. The warhead in the SAP form was semi-armor-piercing: it was meant to punch through the target first and only then act by explosion inside, which suited it against locomotives, trucks, vessels and submarines. They were carried by Typhoons, Mosquitos, Beaufighters and Hurricanes.
Eight rockets with warheads of the 60 pound class in 1:24 scale, cut for the early type of Mk I launch rail. The choice of rail is exactly what matters here, because the later installations looked different. Check against reference material which arrangement was carried by the machine you are building. Eight pieces match the usual split of four rockets under each wing half.
The parts are not polystyrene, so they are glued with cyanoacrylate glue. Cut the excess material off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the remainder down carefully so that you do not shorten the rocket body. Wash and degrease everything before painting. Fit the rockets only once the underside of the wing is finished, and watch that they sit at the same angle; a set of four fitted unevenly is obvious at first glance on a finished model. A thin strip of tape stuck along the wing beforehand can serve as a guide.
Paints, glue and tools are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
