A plastic kit of the four-door Nissan Skyline in the 2000 GT-X version. The 1:24 scale is the most widespread one for road cars, so the finished model can stand next to the other cars in a collection with no jarring difference in size. The manufacturer is Aoshima, a Japanese brand that has had domestic car production in its program for a long time.
The Skyline is one of the longest-produced Japanese names and in the 1970s it was offered as a sedan as well as a coupe. The versions designated GT used an inline six-cylinder engine, while the addition X belonged to the more richly equipped levels. The layout stayed classic, that is a longitudinally mounted engine at the front and rear-wheel drive, which made these cars a popular base for the tuning scene of the period as well as for circuit specials. The four-door body is prized among collectors today precisely for the combination of a civilian look and sporting engineering.
First rid the body of mold release residue by washing it in lukewarm soapy water, then sand the parting lines and apply a filler primer. Period Skylines suit simple solid shades as well as fine metallics, and in both cases finishing with a gloss clear coat and polishing is the key. Masking tape and a thin brush help the chrome window frames. If you plan to build the model in a tuned spirit, first check whether the package holds the wheels and accessories for such a version, because otherwise they have to be bought separately.
