An injection-molded plastic kit of the compact Suzuki Jimny off-road vehicle in 1:24 scale from the Japanese manufacturer Hasegawa. According to the name it is the ski version and the package also holds figures, so a small winter scene can be built from the model. The number of parts, the particular accessories and the number of figures are stated on the box and in the enclosed instructions.
The Jimny is a small off-road vehicle that has kept a ladder frame, rigid axles and four-wheel drive with a low range even in its modern generations. Thanks to a short wheelbase and low weight it gets to places where larger off-road vehicles run up against their dimensions. In Japan it is among the long-standing favorites and it is often completed with bodies, carriers and other leisure accessories, which fits the winter take of this package as well.
The body of an off-road vehicle has many edges and flat areas that reveal uneven spraying, so spray over a primer in thin coats. Finish the interior and the chassis separately. Paint the figures in acrylics layer by layer and leave them until the end. A winter atmosphere is helped by lightly knocking back the gloss and by discreet dirtying of the underside of the vehicle, though in moderation so that the model does not look overdone.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
