An injection-molded plastic kit of a civilian automobile in 1:24 scale from the range of historic cars of the Japanese manufacturer Hasegawa. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted, as a set of parts on sprues. The exact number of parts, the extent of the detailing and the contents of the decal sheet are given on the box and in the manufacturer's instructions.
The Corolla Levin of the AE92 generation went into production in 1987 and was the first Levin with front-wheel drive; the preceding AE86 generation still had rear-wheel drive. The Levin was a more sportingly tuned coupe built on Corolla mechanicals, sold alongside its sister model the Sprinter Trueno. The top GT Apex form had a twin-cam sixteen-valve gasoline four-cylinder of roughly 1.6 liters, disc brakes and a richer interior specification. The Early Version designation in the name refers to the first, as yet unfacelifted form from the start of production, which differs from the later series in details of the lights, the bumpers and the interior.
The body of a civilian car in 1:24 scale stands or falls with the surface of the finish. It pays to sand the parting lines carefully, apply a filler primer, sand that back wet and only then spray the color in thin coats. The decals are applied over a gloss base, as otherwise flat edges will appear under the film; once dry it is good to go over them with a top coat. Mask the glazing before spraying and glue it with a cement for clear plastic that does not fog. Build and paint the interior and the floorpan before you close the body up.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
