A set of turned metal parts in 1:32 scale from the Polish maker Aber. It is not a model of an airplane but an accessory to a kit of the German twin-engine Me 110 heavy fighter in the C and D versions. The set replaces the plastic barrels of the forward and the defensive armament with metal ones, with an open muzzle. Densely packed armament in the nose is in fact exactly the place where coarse plastic parts show up most on a model. The exact breakdown and the number of parts follow the contents of the particular package.
The Messerschmitt Bf 110, commonly also designated the Me 110, was a German twin-engine multirole aircraft of the Second World War. The C and D versions served from 1939 as heavy fighters, escort and attack machines and later as night fighters as well. The fixed armament in the nose was 7.92 mm machine guns backed by 20 mm automatic cannons, while the defense of the rear hemisphere was handled by a flexible machine gun worked by the radio operator. The D version differed from the C above all in changes to increase range.
Fit the barrels only once the nose has been finished and sanded. Carefully redrill the holes if needed, so that all the barrels are parallel and project the same distance, which is very visible on a model. Degrease the metal and go over it with a base coat (a primer). Leave the barrels in a dark metallic tone, pick the muzzles out with a wash and add fine traces of exhaust fumes on the skin behind where the barrels emerge.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
