The set is not a standalone model but an accessory meant to be fitted to a matching plastic kit of the Russian BMP-3 infantry fighting vehicle. The fine metal parts replace the coarser plastic elements and add details that are missing. The set is meant for the Trumpeter kit.
The BMP-3 is a Russian amphibious infantry fighting vehicle with unusually heavy armament. In a single turret it combines a 100 mm weapon able to launch guided missiles as well, a 30 mm autocannon and a machine gun. The vehicle carries a dismount squad and can cross water obstacles.
Separate the photo-etched parts with a sharp knife and make the bends along the etched score lines with a bending tool. Use super glue to bond the metal, and before painting degrease it and go over it with a primer for metal. The fenders and the fine grilles show at their best once brought out with a wash and dust and mud pigments.
This is an add-on photo-etched set. The base plastic kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
