Avia S-199 Sakeen conversion set (1:32, AML) is a resin conversion into the Israeli Avia S-199 fighter with decals for several camouflage schemes.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is a resin conversion set with accessories, not a complete kit. It lets you rebuild a model of the Messerschmitt Bf 109G in 1:32 scale into the postwar Czechoslovak Avia S-199 version, which in Israeli service was nicknamed Sakeen (knife). The package contains cast resin including a new forward fuselage, small photo-etched parts and an extensive decal sheet for several color schemes.
The Avia S-199 came about in postwar Czechoslovakia by combining the Bf 109G airframe with a Junkers Jumo 211 engine, because the original powerplants were not available. The combination brought idiosyncratic flying qualities and the nickname Mezek (mule). Several machines were bought by the newly established Israel and committed to action as its first fighters, where they were given the name Sakeen.
Wash the resin parts free of the mold release agent, cut off the casting blocks and sand them with respiratory protection; glue with cyanoacrylate glue. It is a good idea to fit the new nose to the fuselage of the kit carefully. Apply a gloss varnish before the decals and a matte one once everything is finished.
This is a conversion accessory for advanced modelers. The base kit, the glue and the paints are not included in the package.
