Sheets for masking the glazing of the most widespread version of the German fighter, complemented by two metal muzzles of 13 mm caliber.
Responsibility details are not available.
The German single-seat fighter went a different way from the British and American types. While the Spitfire or the Mustang spread a battery of machine guns across the whole span, this machine concentrated its fire into the axis: the cannon fired through the hollow propeller shaft and a pair of machine guns sat above the engine. The advantage was simplicity of aiming, because the paths of the rounds did not converge at a single point ahead of the aircraft and a hit did not depend on estimating the distance.
The drawback was the small weight of the salvo. Anyone who needed more had to hang gondolas with cannons under the wings, and those cost the aircraft agility as well as speed. The version designated G-6 was the most numerous of all and it was on it that the fuselage pair settled at a caliber of 13 mm. The metal barrels enclosed in the package are aimed at exactly this pair and on a model you will recognize them by the real bore at the muzzle.
The enclosed masks cover the cockpit canopy outside and inside and are complemented by one mask for the national marking. The metal muzzles are glued in place of the plastic projections on the cowling, usually after being shortened to the right length. Before fitting the masks let the paint cure properly and press the mask down with a fingernail along the whole length of the frame so that paint does not bleed under it. Peel it away slowly and at a sharp angle, before the paint has aged.
