A large injection-molded plastic kit of the Italian Fiat CR.42CN fighter biplane in 1:32 scale from ICM. The CN designation (Caccia Notturna) means the night fighter configuration — the machine was fitted with lights on the wing and a wind-driven generator for night interceptions of bombers. The richly detailed model in a large scale holds a detailed radial engine and glazing. Check the exact contents of the package against the manufacturer's part number for this item.
The Fiat CR.42 Falco was an Italian fighter biplane with a Fiat A.74 radial engine and was one of the last biplane fighters committed to combat. It served with the Regia Aeronautica at the beginning of the Second World War. The CN night version was given equipment for action against night raids — additional lights and exhaust flame dampers that did not dazzle the pilot.
Cement the parts with a thin glue for plastic. On a biplane, take care over the exact seating of the upper wing and the struts and reckon with the bracing wires — you will suggest the bracing between the wings with a stretched filament, for example stretched sprue or modeling monofilament. Paint the interior of the cockpit and the radial engine before closing them up. Italian schemes tended to be sand with green mottling — after the gloss varnish and the decals, pick out the detail with a wash.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
