A combined set from the Czech manufacturer AML for the large 1:32 scale: a decal sheet with markings for Messerschmitt Bf 109 K-4 fighters and, with it, resin main wheels that replace the plastic kit parts. The first part of the line devoted to the last production version of the famous type.
The Bf 109 K-4, deployed from the autumn of 1944, was the culmination of a long development of the type. The DB 605D engine with MW-50 mixture injection gave it excellent performance at altitude, and the airframe received a number of aerodynamic changes including a reworked canopy. The K-4 aircraft fought in the closing months of the war in the defense of German territory; their late camouflage schemes with often improvised markings are a popular subject among modelers.
Besides the decals, the package holds cast resin wheels; before use, wash the remains of the mold release agent off them, cut off the casting blocks and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue. Apply decals in a large scale in sections on a gloss base; with the larger subjects work with plenty of water and fine-tune the position while the decal still slides. A decal softener makes sure it settles into the joints, and a final coat of varnish evens everything out.
This is a decal set with accessory resin parts; the aircraft model is not included in the package.
