This injection-molded plastic kit in 1:35 scale from Trumpeter captures the German Sd.Kfz.6/2 half-track with a 3.7 cm Flak 37 anti-aircraft gun on a self-propelled mounting. The richly broken-up kit contains parts on a number of sprues, photo-etched parts, individual track links and rubber front tires. The platform with its folding sides can be built spread out into the firing position.
The Sd.Kfz.6 chassis, originally a medium artillery tractor, was adapted into a mobile anti-aircraft platform. A 3.7 cm Flak 37 gun with a shield and folding sides, which gave the crew more working room, was mounted on the body. The vehicle provided mobile air defense for Wehrmacht and Luftwaffe units from roughly 1941. The combination of a half-track and a rapid-fire gun could handle low-flying aircraft as well as ground targets.
First assemble the running gear and the individual track links, then the body and finally the gun. Use thin modeling cement on the plastic and bond the rubber tires with cyanoacrylate glue. Spray the surface with a primer and apply the paints with an airbrush. You bring the open platform, the engine and the chassis to life with dark washes, a dry brush and pigments for dust and mud.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
