1:32 Douglas A-26C Invader TFace is an Eduard masking set in the TFace standard, that is with masks for the outer and the inner side of the glazing. It is not a kit but an aid for painting.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of pre-cut self-adhesive masks for a large model of the twin-engine A-26 Invader in the C version in 1:32 scale. The TFace designation means that the set takes care of the glazing from both sides — besides the outer masks it contains masks shaped for the inner side. The package holds neither a model nor its parts; it is an aid made of kabuki type masking tape from the Czech firm Eduard.
The Douglas A-26 Invader was an American twin-engine attack aircraft. The C version carries a glazed nose with a bombardier's station, so another large glazed area is added beside the pilot's cockpit and the gun turrets. In 1:32 scale all these compartments are markedly visible.
On the real aircraft the glazing frames carry the interior shade on the inside, not the color of the external finish. If only the outside is masked, bare clear plastic shows through when you look inside — and in a large scale that is especially conspicuous. The procedure has two phases: apply the inner masks, spray the interior shade, let it dry through, then apply the outer masks and spray the external finish. Degrease the glazing beforehand, lay the masks on dry and press them down carefully round the perimeter with a stick so that paint cannot seep under the edge.
The package contains masking material only — the model, paints and glue are not part of it. The masks are cut to the specific shape of the glazing, so check before buying that they match the kit you are building.
