An accessory set from the LööK line of the Czech manufacturer Eduard. According to its designation it is an instrument panel for a model of the single-seat F-16C multirole combat aircraft in the Block 25 version, in 1:48 scale. It is not a kit or a finished model but a replacement for the part from the box with a more accurate add-on. On this type the detail of the cockpit makes a lot of sense, because the frameless canopy leaves the whole pilot's space visible.

The real subject

The F-16 Fighting Falcon is a single-engine multirole combat aircraft that became one of the most widespread types in its category. The C version is single-seat and Block 25 was its first production block; against the earlier machines it brought upgraded avionics and wider options for carrying armament. In design terms the type is characterized by the frameless bubble cockpit with excellent visibility, the side-mounted control stick and the reclined pilot's seat.

Usage tips

Cut or sand the original panel out of the kit so that the new part sits at the correct depth, and try the fit dry. Glue in spots with low-odor super glue or with glue for photo-etch. On modern aircraft it pays to photograph the cockpit before closing it, because under the glazing you will no longer reach it. Fit the clear canopy last and choose a glue that does not fog clear parts. If you are building the model with the canopy slid back, finish the surroundings of the panel as well, otherwise the difference in the level of detail will be conspicuous.
