Masks of stripes for Mk.117 bombs for the Thunderchief (1:32) — pre-cut self-adhesive painting masks from New Ware for spraying warning stripes on heavier bombs.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of pre-cut self-adhesive masks of the brand New Ware for spraying colored warning stripes on Mk.117 bombs in the large 1:32 scale. This is not a model and not bombs either — they are precisely shaped masks of thin masking tape which set out the position of the stripes and make it possible to spray clean edges without laborious measuring out. The set is intended for the bombs carried by the Thunderchief fighter-bomber.
The Mk.117 is an American aerial bomb of a weight of around 750 pounds, widely used by tactical aircraft during the war in Vietnam. The Thunderchief was among its typical carriers. The colored stripes on the body serve as service marking of the kind of filling.
Spray the base shade of the bomb, lay the masks in the place of the stripes and spray over them with the color of the stripe; then lift the masks off. One can also proceed the other way around. In the large 1:32 scale the edge of the stripe stays sharp and clean. For the best adhesion, degrease the surface before sticking, free it of dust and press the mask down with a soft tool so that the paint does not run under the edge.
This is a masking set. The model, bombs and paints are not included in the package.
